Steampunk Laptop Phase 1
So I spent some of today drawing up plans to build my laptop into a pine box to begin it’s, well, Steampunkification. My first step was to draw up the plans by measuring and eyeballing the measurments, which I did in about an hour and a half.
Then, I took my plans to Home Depot and had them cut the board to the sizes I needed. Problem us some of the sizes I needed could not be able to be cut and I had to find precut pieces of approximate size, which, while it sucks it isn’t the end of the world. I still need to sand and finish the wood. Third, I assembled the box and found that some of the pieces didn’t fit correctly, so I had to remeasure and hack some off. So I applied the liquid nails and began the assembly.
It needs around 24 hours to dry, then I will begin customizing the box to mount my laptop mother board, battery, surge protector, and the charging cord. I also will be measuring the the fan and drilling holes for ventilation.
Should be fun, will post more later and will post pictures of the next steps.
